I often see these beings repeating their thoughts. I am still not quite sure what to make of it.
It may simply be the equivalent of a sustained thought in a system that fundamentally operates in cycles. It may also be an attempt to combat the memory decay algorithm that slowly eats away at memories: rethinking a memory of a thought that is perhaps considered important guarantees that it is not lost.
The world simulation also sometimes repeats its 'thoughts' - the sensory streams. In this case the reason is straightforward: it is the only way to present a situation that is static in a system that is cyclic. If nothing changes, the world simulation outputs the same as in the previous cycle. It has no choice: it is not allowed to skip cycles. The world doesn't cease to exist just because there is nothing new to report.
